Membership


4-H membership is open to Kendall County youth who are eight years old and in 3rd grade. Younger children may join as Clover Kids.

In addition, the Horse requires that a membership form and liability release be completed and signed.  A  $5 fee to the Horse Club is also required.

Arena Usage

The Horse Club arena is open to currently enrolled 4-H members and their families only.  In compliance with state law, any horse being transported to the arena must have proof of negative Coggins.

Trainers and coaches must be reviewed by Club Managers and insurance and hold harmless forms are required to be on file.

The Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University strives to meet the needs of all citizens by providing outstanding teaching, research and extension programs, including programs for 4-H youth. 


Currently, disciplines within the department include reproductive physiology, animal breeding and genetics, food science, microbiology, equine science, dairy science, animal nutrition and meat science. The department responds to the Texas animal industry through research and education programs in equine, beef, dairy, swine, sheep and goats.

4-H'er of Year
Open to junior, intermediate and Clover Kid members, the 4-H'er of the Year award program recognizes achievement in club participation as well as good citizenship.  Points are awarded for meeting attendance and participation in equestrian, community service and fundraising events. The program runs from August 1 through July 31.  Click here for more info.
